Wow, it’s been almost a full year since I actually updated this website?!

I guess nothing big has been happening – or maybe I’m just lazy, and posting most of my day to day updates on IG and Twitter. And speaking of Twitter; since it appears to be going belly up, I thought maybe I should start being more active on my own domain again.

As I am writing this I realize that I’ve done tons of cool things this summer and fall which I never wrote about, so maybe I should do some throwback posts about that too? I did after all become a radio host this summer, and did a really fun panel at Torucon, which I feel deserves it’s own little corner. SO look out for that I guess!

I’m slowly working towards setting up my Patreon, although I’m really nervous about actually launching it, which is why I keep putting it off. But I’ll do my best to figure out the details before the new year!

I’ll stay on Twitter for as long as I can, and I’ll keep using Instagram as well. You can find me on both those platforms as @Authorcarola.

In NON internet news, I’m super busy these days with a lot of exciting projects that are definitely draining all my energy, and leaving me MIA on every platform imaginable.
My 9 day NaNoWriMo-venture came and went in a flurry of short, mostly lemon-flavored texts, some of which will be Patreon fodder, and others that will go into the CoH bonus collection, whenever that might be.
I have a massive editing project lined up, with no time to actually edit *cry* but hoping I can get on with it once other things calm down a bit.

If you’re in Norway you can catch me next weekend (the 26th of November) at the Public Library, recording a broadcast and leading a panel with the creators of Rakkan, for their Manga launch fest. The event will take place in the Fantasy Room, and is free to attend! DO come join us~

I’m also preparing for Casacon next month, where I will be a panelist on a Romance Trope panel, and a moderator for a Queer Fiction panel. Casacon is 100% virtual so you can attend from wherever you might be in the world, and registering for the con is free as well! I’m super excited to be back at this cozy little virtual con, and hope to see you there!

To top if all of, I am of course still a co-host of The Yaoi Shelf, and we will be doing our monthly live this Sunday, on the 20th, with Peachie from The Church of BL (and Citrus Con!), so please pop by and catch our unhinged rambling!

So that’s what I’m doing for the foreseeable future. In my next couple of posts I guess I’ll look a bit back in time on what’s been happening this year?
But for now I’m going to retreat back into my bubble of BL dramas – currently watching everything under the sun in an attempt to fill the KinnPorsche-shaped hole in my heart.

Signs of life

September is almost past with the month of Halloween almost upon us, and what a month it’s been!

Thanks to everyone who has already picked up Change of Heart both the print and digital editions! It really means a lot to me! I’m also surprised by how quickly the books were delivered to some of you, wow!

Meanwhile, my own orders – even the ones I ordered directly to the address of reviwers – took their own sweet time being printed and shipped.

The first half of my order finally came in last week, and I’m THRILLED to finally see the book in the flesh, without the ugly ‘not for sale’ banner covering up Haru’s pretty face.

After admiring the boxes full of books for a while, the rest of the week was spent signing and shipping out books to those of you who’ve pre-ordered, to test readers as thanks for their invaluable help and to reviewers. I made a cute reel about it!

I still have some packages to ship out, and I am enjoying the process of writing little messages and adding in goodies before sending the books out to the world~ I can’t believe my boys aren’t just mine anymore!!

If you’ve already received your copy, please let me know what you think! I’m planning a whole post about this, but reviews, and sharing the book on social media helps me out massively, so I truly appreciate it. And of course I am soooo curious of what you all think of Noa and the chaos that surrounds him.

It’s been such a long road, and it feels weird to finally be standing here. One click, and my boys are going out to the world! I hope you will get along with them~

Well, it’s been 6 years since my last book (I think?) and a lot of the process was different – in part because the industry is more updated, and partially because I understood more this time around. Of course, I still feel like I’m running around like a headless chicken, and there are definitely things I wish I’d done in a well… thought-through kind of way, but we still made it to the release day.

Exciting times ahead! Next up is getting the book to Outland! Hopefully in time for Pride!

Release Week & GA Winner!

Agggh I can’t believe we’re here! Tomorrow is the final day of August, and Wednesday is September 1st aka RELEASE DAY!! ★゜．:*:．ヽ(*゜▽゜*)ノ。．:*:．゜★

Not gonna lie, I’m lowkey terrified.

And a little behind schedule as always, of course. Because of an issue with the cover file, I had to order a 2nd proof copy, just to be sure everything is fine. Hopefully it’ll arrive tomorrow, but most likely it’ll be delivered on release day.

In that case (and because the paperbacks go through a review period before they’re published), the paperback edition of Change of Heart might not be available a little later than I’d wanted. But fear not, it is being released this week (AAH that’s a wild sentence). And the Kindle edition will be available as planned.

For those in Norway waiting for the Outland release, it’ll likely take a week or two before the books are in stock as they need to be delivered and then distributed to the branches. If your Outland doesn’t have the book shelved, ask the staff and they should be able to order it for you!

I’ve also opened my order form for those wishing to buy a signed copy directly from me. Check out the sticky post on this page, or go here for more details.
These books will be ordered along with the batch I’m planing to distribute to test readers, reviewers and of course the giveaway winner. If I have some copies left over, I’ll let the form stay open, but pre-orders will be prioritized.

Change of Heart is coming out in around two weeks (EEEEP!!) and will be available on Amazon, Kindle and Outland immediately.

Some updates

I became aware of the mobile version of this site being a bit wonky – namely in the way it displays the bios on the Cast site. I’ll be fixing this as soon as I get the time, until then, I suggest using the browser version to view the site or just to ignore it for now

I also have some happy news! Yesterday I received the ISBN for Change of Heart and we’re one step closer to release! This also means that I can add the book to my goodreads catalogue!

If everything goes according to plan, the release will be on August 31st/September 1st. It all really does depend on how long the proofing takes – rather how long it takes for me to receive the proof copy in the mail.
